  • What are the dates of Spiegeltent Wollongong?

  • Where is Spiegeltent Wollongong located?

    We're located in the Arts Precinct, 32 Burelli St, Wollongong, (Between Illawarra Performing Arts Centre and the Wollongong City Gallery.)

  • What hours is the Spiegeltent Wollongong open?

    The site and bar are open throughout the day and at least an hour before each performance starts.

    The Box Office is located within Illawarra Performing Arts Centre and is open weekdays from 10am – 4pm, and at least one hour prior to all performances.

  • Is Spiegeltent Wollongong suitable for all ages?

    While many evening shows are only suitable for adults, there is a range of shows for all ages (and tastes) during the Speigeltent Wollongong season, including shows specifically for kids and families. Please check the age recommendation provided with each show.

  • Where do I park?

    A mix of paid and free on- and off-street parking is available directly around the site, or within a short walk. Be sure to read parking signs carefully.
    The Spiegeltent is also directly on the Free Gong Shuttle bus route, and easily accessible by public transport.

  • What happens in wet weather?

    The Spiegeltent is enclosed, and shows will go ahead in all weather conditons. You may want to bring an umbrella or poncho, but there are also covered areas in and around Illawarra Performing Arts Centre where you can stay dry.

    In the unlikely event of cancellation due to severe weather, we will email anyone who bought a ticket for that session and post a notification on our Spiegeltent Wollongong Facebook Page.

  • Can I use my Dine & Discover vouchers?

    Yes! You can redeem your NSW Discover Entertainment vouchers at Spiegeltent Wollongong. You can also use Dine vouchers at the onsite cafe - The Social at IPAC.

    To apply for your vouchers, please visit the Service NSW website.

    Discover vouchers can be used for any ticket purchase by phone or in person at the Box Office, Monday to Friday, 10am – 4pm.  (Please note they are no currently available for online bookings.)

    Please note that no change can be given on Discover vouchers, and we are unable to accept vouchers immediately before show times.

     

  • What COVID safety measures are you implementing?

    We’re committed to delivering safe & enjoyable performing arts experiences, and are operating in accordance with NSW Health rules and guidelines for entertainment venues.

    For everyone's comfort and to allow a bit more space between rows, this year we are reducing the capacity of the Spiegeltent to 75%. We are also doubling the amount of filtered airconditioning being pumped into the space. The Spiegeltent will be aired out between performances, and thoroughly cleaned daily.

    As a condition of entry, all visitors must comply with NSW Public Health Orders in place at the time. Face masks are recommended while indoors.

    Please note that as NSW Public Health restrictions and guidelines change, the information on this page will be updated. We recommend that you check the pre-show reminder email sent to you before the show to the most up-to-date information.

  • Where can I purchase tickets?

    Tickets for all shows at Spiegeltent Wollongong should always be purchased direct from our Box Office or from our website. Tickets purchased via websites including Viagogo, eBay, Gumtree, Facebook, or any other unauthorised sellers risk the possibility of being fake and void. 

    Tickets can be purchased online at spiegeltentwollongong.com, or from the Box Office between 10am – 4pm weekdays, and one hour prior to all performances.

  • Will my e-ticket get me into the show?

    Yes - you can go straight to the venue with your e-ticket on your device.
    Your ticket email has the subject line ‘Thank you for your order’ and a confirmation number. Just have your ticket/s ready on your phone to go straight through to the show! If you prefer, you can print your confirmation email at home or visit the venue box office during the season. 
    If you've chosen to collect your tickets from the box office, please arrive no later than 30mins prior to your session start time. You will need to show valid ID for collection.

  • Do children need a ticket?

    Children 12 months and over need to have a ticket.

  • How do I purchase Under 30s tickets?

    Proof of age is required at the time of booking/ticket collection, and may also be requested on admission. Please call the Box Office on (02) 4224 5999 or visit us between 10am - 4pm weekdays, or one hour before the show.

  • Am I eligible for concession?

    Discounted ticket prices are available for Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, MEAA and Australian Writer’s Guild card holders, as well as full-time students. Proof of concession is required at the time of booking/ticket collection and may also be requested prior to admission.

  • Can I get a refund or exchange?

    Please check your booking carefully at the time of purchase. Tickets cannot be refunded after purchase except if an event is cancelled, rescheduled or significantly relocated as outlined in the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice. For more details, please refer to the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice.
    If you feel that you are entitled to a refund, please email info@merrigong.com.au with the details.
    Ticket exchanges are at the discretion of the event promoter. Please email info@merrigong.com.au with the details of your request. 

  • Do you charge transaction fees?

    If you purchase tickets online or phone, a $6.95 transaction fee per transaction will apply. (This is for the whole transaction, not per ticket!).

    No transaction fees are applicable when tickets are purchased in person at the Box Office.

  • What is General Admission?

    This means that your ticket does not assign you a specific allocated seat at the venue, so it's first in, best dressed!  
    Some shows have a Premium seating area, and Premium ticket patrons will enter via the express queue for that event. 

  • What happens if I am running late for a performance?

    Being late affects performers and the rest of the audience. This is so important that some artists specifically ask that latecomers not be admitted. The Spiegeltent reserves the right to exclude latecomers until there is a suitable break in the performance.

  • Can we sit together as a group?

    If you are part of a group, please line up together and let front of house staff know and we will do our best to seat you together. 

  • How do I make an accessibility enquiry?

    We're committed to ensuring that everyone can enjoy theatre and live performance experiences.
    The Spiegeltent is wheelchair accessible and there are accessible toilets available at the site. We are also able to provide assistance to any patrons who may have mobility concerns.

    There is limited disabled parking on Burelli St adjacent to the site, as well as a drop off zone.

  • Do you support the Companion Card Scheme?

    Yes! Spiegeltent Wollongong supports the Companion Card program. Free Companion Card tickets are available over the phone or in person. 

  • What should I bring when I visit?
    • Proof of age or any concession cards 
    • Face mask
    • Your e-tickets
    • Shoes (Bare feet are not ok. Wear shoes at all times!)
    • Appropriate wet weather and/or sun protection.
  • What can’t I bring into The Spiegeltent?

    The following items are not permitted at Spiegeltent Wollongong.

    • Alcohol. We are licensed - you cannot bring in or take alcohol from the area. Just like a pub or club. Banned items will be confiscated and not returned.
    • Liquids. Unfortunately some people want to smuggle in alcohol, which breaches our Liquor License. Only empty bottles can be brought in. But, water is freely available once inside and you are welcome to top up as needed!
    • Pets and animals (assistance dogs are permitted).
    • Bikes are only permitted outside premise – bike parking is available on Burelli St, directly across from the Spiegeltent site.
    • Skateboards, scooters, rollerblades or skates 
    • Professional cameras without prior permission. Happy snaps are welcome, but anyone with a professional camera must have prior permission from the Spieglent Wollongong team. Please contact marketing@merrigong.com.au
    • Any items considered illegal or dangerous. (You know the drill.)
  • Can I use my camera or recording device at the Spiegeltent?

    The use of cameras, videos or other recording devices is strictly prohibited inside Spiegeltent and during performances.

    Outside - we love happy snaps! Post them, share them and generally snap away (#SpiegeltentWollongong, @spiegeltentwollongong).

  • What do I do if I lose a child or parent?

    Please notify a member of staff or security immediately.

  • Where do I report lost articles?

    If you find something, please hand it in to any member of staff and we’ll do our best to return the item to its owner.

    Spiegeltent Wollongong is not responsible for any lost or found property and will give any unclaimed items to charity or to the police at the conclusion of the season.
